About the Festival of Trees

It’s for the kids.

Since 1997, Festival of Trees has been the area's must-see fall event, offering entertainment, family fun, and creative displays for all.

For 23 years, the hospital foundation proudly presented this event, raising over $4 million to support community outreach and health initiatives.

In 2020, OSF Healthcare Sacred Heart Medical Center entrusted Balloons Over Vermilion with the Festival's operations, starting with the 2021 event. As a nonprofit, Balloons Over Vermilion also runs the popular hot air balloon festival and has consistently given back to the community since 2016.

With the addition of Festival of Trees, our Board of Directors commits 100% of net proceeds from both events to benefit children in our community. Guided by our motto 'It’s for the Kids,' we remain dedicated to our Community Impact Awards. Under our agreement with OSF, a portion of Festival proceeds will return to the hospital for the first five years.

  • "Festival of Trees is a fun, family friendly week with beautiful Christmas Trees, entertainment and lots of smiling faces! But to our community it is so much more! The Festival of Trees donation to St. Vincent de Paul Food Panty impacts so many lives that not everyone understands! The generosity of the sponsors, the committees, the volunteers and all those involved directly supports children and families hidden in plain sight! Thank you, Festival of Trees, for enriching, impacting and lending a hand to those who come to us in need!"
