Festival of Trees would not be possible without the generous support of our sponsors. Julius W. Hegeler II, a lifelong Danville resident and beloved philanthropist, dedicated his life to improving his community. A Korean War veteran and successful businessman, Hegeler's greatest passion was supporting children. He often sponsored events that brought joy to the young, such as The Polar Express at the Festival of Trees, where he would delight in watching children listen to the story and meet Santa Claus. His foundation continues to support the community, embodying his spirit of giving and his commitment to improving the lives of those in Danville.
Julius Hegeler's enduring love for his community, especially its children, is commemorated through the continued work of the Julius W. Hegeler II Foundation, which is now the title sponsor of the Festival of Trees, ensuring that his legacy of generosity lives on.
